Teens Get Part Time Jobs

Are you a teenager looking to make some money? What is the best way for you to make money? Your best bet will probably be to find a part time job where you can work after school and on weekends.

Before you get going, understand that it will most likely take some time and you’ll have to look everywhere. Ideally, you would find your dream job and get hired in under an hour, but this probably won’t happen.

Now that you have started your search, you should have a basic idea of where you’ll be looking. Some common places will include grocery stores, malls, fast food places, food courts, department stores, amusement parks, car washes, small businesses, etc.

Choose the top three areas where you want to work. For example, decide if you want to work at either a mall, supermarket, or car wash. Narrow it down for now. If you never want to work at a car wash, don’t apply there.

Don’t narrow it down too much. You need to keep possibilities open. If you only look for jobs at places you think you’ll love to work, you’ll never find a job. You just might end up taking a job you don’t really like. If you want the money, it’s worth it.

Now start applying. Again, apply wherever you can. Most chain stores and restaurants have online applications. If you don’t find a website, call or go in and ask for an application. You need to be proactive if you want a job.

Don’t make your mom or dad do everything for you. If you don’t take an initiative, you probably won’t get and keep a job. If the manager has to keep talking to your mom, they won’t hire you.

Part time job interviews shouldn’t be nerve wracking. It’s not like you’re going out for a professional job. Just answer the questions, look presentable, look them in the eye, and be polite and honest.
